What Is Os and Xs?
Os and Xs is one of the daily logic puzzles in the Puzzle Page app. You're given a grid scattered with O and X clue letters and some black blocking cells. Your job is to fill every remaining white cell with either an O or an X — following the rule that no three of the same symbol can appear consecutively in any row or column, and each row and column must end up balanced.
The black cells act like crossword blocks: they break up the rows and columns into shorter sequences, which is what makes each puzzle uniquely solvable.
How to Read Our Os and Xs Solutions
- Black letters in light cells are the puzzle's original clues.
- Blue letters in white cells are the deductions — the cells you had to figure out.
- Solid black cells are blocked positions, just like in a crossword.
Strategy Tips for Faster Solving
- Two-in-a-row forces the third. If you see
O Onext to an empty cell, that empty cell must be anX(and vice versa). - Avoid sandwiches. A cell flanked by two of the same symbol on both sides must be the opposite symbol — e.g.,
O _ Omust beO X O. - Count what's left. Once a row has the maximum number of one symbol, all remaining cells in that row must be the other.
- Work outward from clue clusters. Dense clue regions give you the most starting constraints.
